Part 1 of my review of Justin Blake's "Caveman to Millionaire" program. ... Become a Multi-Millionaire in 12 weeks on the Internet. Who wouldn't be interested in doing that? But, is it possible? Did Justin Blake really become a multi-millionaire in 12 weeks? Over the next few days, I'll let you know what I found out about Justin Blake's "Caveman to Millionaire" method.

OK, readers, it’s time for another review. This time, I’ll review Justin Blake’s “Caveman to Millionaire” program.

The headline on his sales copy is designed to suck in anyone wanting to make quick cash. It reads (in big, bold, red lettering):

… Become a Multi-Millionaire in 12 weeks on the Internet!

Now, who wouldn’t be interested in doing that? But, is it possible? Did Justin Blake really become a multi-millionaire in 12 weeks?

Of course, there are the seemingly mandatory photocopies of his bank account showing “miscellaneous credits” or deposits of $610,848.27 in one month. Pretty impressive, isn’t it? Or is it…???

Let’s dissect his sales copy, shall we?

First, there’s the claim that he became a multi-millionaire in just 12 weeks on the internet with no previous experience. One of the first things you’ll do if you sign up for Justin’s “Caveman” blueprint is download his .pdf “Caveman to Millionaire“.

In this 60+ page report (that normally sells for $97.95 but for a limited time, just because he’s such a nice guy and really wants you to succeed, you can buy it for only $49.95 – in fact, if you try to click away, you’ll get it for an amazing bargain of $1.00 for 2 weeks, after which time you’ll be billed the full amount) he states “After three years of trying and losing money, and having all of my friends and family tell me it would never work, I gave up.”

So, it sounds like Justin spent at least 156 weeks going into debt on the internet before becoming a multi-millionaire.

Now, I’m not saying the guy isn’t making money now. I’m sure he is. But, apparently it didn’t happen in just 12 weeks. Here’s an important thing to keep in mind: Most overnight successes spend years becoming successful.

Anyway, let’s get back to his sales copy. What about that bank statement? We don’t know what his beginning balance or his ending balance is on this statement. But, let’s take a calculator to those current transactions.

Deposits +$10,643.88

Credits +$610,848.27

Checks -$254,633.63

Payments -$87,728.10

CheckCard -$89,418.79

Debits -$180,318.50

Investment Fund +$123.75

In other words, $621,615.82 – 612,099.07 = $9,516.75.

Now, I will readily admit, I don’t know what the Check, Payments, CheckCard and Debits consist of. Maybe this is just spending money for Justin. But, the problem I see over and over again with these statement copies is this: OK, you made $610,84.27, but what did it cost you to make that?

Are some of those payments the advertising and commission fees in order to generate that amount? Now, $9,516.75 is still a nice profit. But, if it took you four weeks to make that, I don’t think you’ll be a millionaire in 12 weeks. Get my drift?

Next we see pictures of Justin’s car, his house, his lear jet… Well, I could show you some awesome photos of me standing next to a classic car and a mansion and a jet, but it wouldn’t mean I owned them or paid cash for them.

In fact, it’s very common in positive thought circles to take a picture of yourself next to luxury items that you want in order to build the image of you having these things in your mind. Maybe Justin really owns this stuff. But, he’s already told is in his .pdf that it took him far longer than 12 weeks to “make his multi-millions” so at this point, I’m just a bit skeptical.

His sales copy is peppered with those time-sensitive trigger words: “I might take this website down at any minute!” “Get instant access now!” etc. All designed to drive you to action. And, of course, there’s his iron-clad, money-back guarantee in case you aren’t satisfied.

He boasts that in less than 15 minutes he can make $5,000 to $20,000 every day. Need a new couch? No problem! Heck, you could buy a new car for 15 – 30 minutes work at that rate!

Justin promises he’ll be your personal guide, and says that you can’t find this information anywhere else in the world. Sounds like a bargain for less than $50 bucks. So, I had to check this out.

Over the next few days, I’ll let you know what I found out about Justin Blake’s “Caveman to Millionaire” method. So…

Stay tuned and listen up!

Don’t know why it took me so long to notice… there is a fatal flaw in my attempt to perform an unbiased review of the “free” version of this product.

When you choose the free options for MOIS, you are given one option only for your free website to promote: home-based businesses. Kimberly Hoffman’s system is one of the three products promoted on your free website. In order to really do the MOIS system–at the least free version–you are basically FORCED to promote and sell her product whether or not you believe in it, whether or not you know if it will work.

Sorry, but in my humble opinion, this is affiliate marketing at it’s worst. My whole premise is, let me try the product and see if I can make money with it. If I can, I will whole-heartedly recommend it to others. But, that goes directly against the whole My OnLine Income System.

The system is designed to make money selling itself. Yes, I understand that’s the whole point of affiliate marketing, to sign up to sell a product. However, if I go to ClickBank, I can purchase a product and use it without becoming an affiliate for it. With MOIS, that’s a little more difficult to do.

Is there useful information in Kimberly Hoffman’s system? Yes.

Can you use this information to sell other products? Yes.

But overall, I haven’t been overwhelmed with new information. I have taken away only a few tidbits of new (to me) information, but the vast majority of it I already knew.

Have I made a dime with her system? No. But, in all fairness, I wasn’t sending anyone to the free, money-making website that came with MOIS because I didn’t want to promote the three programs without knowing whether or not they would work… you see the endless loop this puts me in?

I suppose I could substitute the free website with some other affiliate product that I know and trust and see if I generated any sales using these methods, but then that would defeat the purpose of recommending her system, since it revolves so clearly around marketing itself.

I’m afraid I have to give Kimberley Hoffman’s My Online Income System a mere 2 out of 5 stars for it’s less than above board tactics at forced self-promotion as well as the almost daily barrage of additional product offers in my email box for which she gets affiliate commissions.

Thanks, but no thanks, Kimberley. I clearly see now how you have made your money with this program.

Moving right along, and feeling MUCH better about MOIS now that I’m doing a lot of hands on work. (Have I said how bored I get just reading and learning and not doing???)

Here’s what I’ve accomplished today…

I posted original articles to four article directories. (Days 21-24)

I signed up for and posted comments on three forums.

In addition, I learned some great new tips and tricks from one of the forums that I joined and used them to tweak my Squidoo page.

Now, even though I’m feeling better because I’m taking action and doing something, I have yet to see any sales and, of course, since I’ve just posted articles and forum posts, I have yet to see any real traffic to my website, blog or Squidoo page as a result of my efforts.

So for now, the jury is still out on My Online Income System. But, I’ll keep you posted.

Have I told you I'm a very action-oriented person? MOIS Days 1-18 were tough. Day 19 is organization day.

Have I told you I’m a very action-oriented person? While I enjoy learning, I really like to have tasks to do while I’m learning. It helps to reinforce what I’ve learned, and I’ve always felt that I learn better in a hands-on type of environment. So, Days 1-18 were tough.

Day 19 is organization day. This is fine. I like organization. I agree that it is important to have all of your information organized and know what you did when and where. This is a really good module in the system. Kimberley shares her advice on how to organize your information as you go forward, how to set up a notebook, and what information to record.

Day 20 — FINALLY I GET TO ACT! An overview of Squidoo and setting up a lens. Since I already have a Squidoo lens on another topic, this was no problem for me to review and set up a new lens for MOIS.

Days 21-24 — More action. After spending so much time learning about articles, it was finally time to write and distribute some. Each day is devoted to a different directory. I’m not going to share which ones, because I don’t want to reveal EVERY detail of the programs I’m reviewing. I already had accounts with all but one of these directories so, again, getting through these three days should be a snap. Also, remember from my previous post, I admitted to skipping ahead and writing articles when I learned the method for writing them quickly.

I’m starting to feel better about the My Online Income System — funny how being able to actually do something improves my mood! But, again, the proof is in the pudding. Let’s see if I get any results from my hard work.

For now, I’ve got work to do… Are you keeping up?

My Online Income System update: More reading and studying, with no actual hands-on work. Probably more interesting for someone with no internet experience than it is for me. Still, there is a lot of good information being provided in the course and e-books presented for reading.

This is really difficult for me, as I’m a very action-oriented person. I understand the importance of looking before you leap, and knowing what you’re doing instead of rushing ahead. ”Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.” Trust me, I’ve been a fool my fair share of the time…

One of the great resources shared was learning how to write articles quickly. General rule of thumb being quantity is more important than quality. Not that anyone recommends you put out garbage, but getting lots of work out there will do more for you than getting a few really well-written articles. The e-book resource recommends spending no more than 10 minutes writing an article so, theoretically, you should be able to crank out 5 articles an hour.

Even if you only spent an hour a day writing articles, in one week, you would have 35 of them out there on the internet pointing back at your website, or affiliate link, or opt-in list. Sounds good to me.

So, being one of those people who always jumps ahead in class, I decided to forgo my “A” work, and cranked out two 10-minute articles this morning. I was amazed at how easy it really was to do that. Now, I haven’t done anything with the articles yet, and still need to make sure they are keyword optimized (which should only take a quick revision).

This is a HUGE deal for me. Content is king in internet-based businesses. So, learning that my “A” work isn’t required here, and then not letting myself get sucked into doing it anyway (what can I say, I’ve always been an overachiever!), will be a major time-saver for me.

Anyway, lots more to read and study, but wanted to give an update on my progress. I’m hoping to get through week 3 of the material tonight.

So far, I give MOIS 3 of out 5 stars. If you have any experience at all, you should be able to get thru the first 14 days in one afternoon. Don't get carried away buying all of the upgrades and recommended products if you are on a limited budget.

OK, I blew through the reading… as I said, it’s pretty basic so that even someone with NO experience can understand it. Since I was doing the tasks as I came to them (some I had already done long ago — like set up a ClickBank account), there wasn’t anything left to do for Days 6 and 7.

Since I want to see if money can be made with little to no money investment on my part (other than the initial fee for joining Kimberley’s program), I have chosen to not choose any of the upgrades that are being offered.

CAUTION: Again, I have to caution you, while Kimberley may have nothing but the best intentions for you, you have to be careful when following any on-line money-making system. You can easily be convinced to plunk down your credit card number for purchase after purchase because they all sound good.

That’s the whole point to affiliate marketing. You want to make everything sound very attractive to the person reading your material so that they will buy and you will make a commission off of every sale.

In order for any product or system to get my official “Gold Star Rating”, I will have to be able to make money with the system without paying for any additional upgrades or products. So, for now, even though I may end up paying a lot more to upgrade later (should I decide Kimberley’s products are the way to go), I’m sticking with the free options only.

So, in 3 hours I have accomplished the following:

Read the 33-page ebook “My Online Income System“

Created a new ClickBank account

Created a free money-making website

Day 9, however, brought me to a sticking point. The action plan asks me to customize my website… an option that, apparently, is NOT available for the free site. This is the first of several *fails* of the system that I ran into. See days 10-12 for more.

Day 10 deals with Google Analytics. Again, since the free website cannot be edited in any way, Google Analytics code cannot be pasted onto the website, so traffic cannot be tracked.

Day 11 deals with Google Adsense. Now, in Kimberley’s defense, she doesn’t recommend you use Adsense for her system and says this is for information only. Good thing, since once again, you can’t add the code to your free website.

Day 12 deals with Aweber. Not only is does Aweber come with a monthly fee, but again, you cannot add the code to your free website. There is, however, an option for visitors to provide their name and email address for a “free report” which means that SOMEONE is collecting the names and email addresses of visitors to your site for their mailing list — but not you.

Now, I highly recommend investing in a good auto-responder at some point in your internet business building. But, again, in trying to evaluate this system’s ability to generate money for free (beyond the initial purchase price), I won’t be using an auto-responder.

Understand, there is a cost involved with this experiment. I will drive traffic through my marketing efforts that will pass right on through and I won’t be capturing any leads. This isn’t something I would recommend you do long-term if you want repeat business (the ability to sell additional products to these same customers in the future).

Day 13: Submit website to Yahoo.

Day 14: Informational only, no tasks to do.

Day 15: A 39-page ebook to read.

I’m going to stop here for now. So far, I give MOIS 3 of out 5 stars.

The good:

This system truly is designed so that ANYONE can follow along

This system provides a lot of good, basic information on internet marketing

The forum is well-organized so that you should be able to find answers to your questions without having to ask

The bad:

This system truly is designed so that ANYONE can follow along. So, if you have any experience at all, you’ll feel like some of it is a waste of time.

The free website is VERY limited.

For a “free” system, there are a lot of links to products that you need to buy in order to completely follow the “free” system.

The ugly:

One wonders if Kimberley’s income is more related to affiliate sales driven by her system (Pro website, Aweber) than by websites that you will learn to make with her system.

Maybe it’s just me, but I get annoyed with typographical errors when reading printed books, or ebooks.

OK, I’ve got homework to do. Glad I’m fast-tracking this system. If I wasn’t, I’d probably be tempted to get onto the next Bright Shiny Object already, since I’ve done 2-weeks of the Action Plan and not generated a cent yet (but could have spent lots of them on recommended products!).

Do a quick search at Google for “home based business” and you’ll get 136,000,000 results! That’s pretty incredible.

More and more people every day are looking for a way to earn money outside of their regular paid job. No, I’m not going to use the tired old acronym Just Over Broke. Pretty much everybody out there who is generating an income through a home-based business got their start in their spare time while their J.O.B. paid their expenses. Many continued to work their J.O.B. while they also ran their home-based business until they got out of debt and had a little cushion in the bank before “firing their boss” (yet another cliche).

Well, I’ll be honest with you. I’m just like you. I’m not a guru. I’m not famous. I’m not even a successful on-line marketer — yet.

You’re probably wondering who I am and why you should even care that I have a blog on building wealth. Here’s a little bit about me.

I’m an honest, hard-working, single parent. I have been up to my eyeballs in debt, and trying to do something on the internet for a few years now. What I’ve managed to do is run up my credit cards and trash my credit rating chasing one bright, shiny object after another.

The thing is, I even love my job. I have a great time, and what I have learned through the school of hard knocks in my failed home businesses, I have been able to use to benefit my boss at my day job. In addition to my regular work, I get to play on the internet every day… blogging, tweeting, facebooking, listening to great teleseminars and webinars, and increasing my knowledge base.

Even though I have heard and seen lots of promising ideas on how to generate an income for myself personally, I guess I just haven’t found the right niche or system yet.

So, why blog about building wealth? Because I know that it’s only a matter of time before I do find the right combination. And, I thought what better way to help others than to journal about my experiences live on the internet. Maybe I can help you learn from my failures and successes and save you some time, money and aggravation.

As I try different systems, I will blog about my experiences here. Now, having said that, of course everyone is different. Maybe you can be extremely successful with a system that I wasn’t able to get off the ground. And maybe something I get going just won’t “click” for you.

I’ll report on the good, the bad and the ugly from my perspective. You can take it with a grain of salt, or take it at face value. If you have any questions about anything I post, please feel free to ask. I will respond to every legitimate post on my blog, or email in my inbox. But, please don’t spam me with your home business, internet, money making opportunities. If you have a genuine question about an opportunity out there, feel free to ask, I may have tried it and I may have an opinion. But, don’t try to get me to buy into your opportunity. That’s not the way I roll.

So, fasten your seat belts, here we go!

OK, here we go with the first experiment. I received an email offering me an opportunity to get into Kimberley Hoffman’s My Online Income System (MOIS).

This is basically a 60-day step-by-step program to generating an income on-line. The creator, Kimberley Hoffman, states that she was a single-mom, waitressing and in 1 1/2 years was able to quit her job and live off of her internet earnings.

The course is written to meet the needs of someone with absolutely no internet skills or knowledge, so if you have a foundation already, you should be able to go through the course quite a bit faster.

Your membership gets you her ebook, access to an on-line forum, daily action plans, support, and resources.

Since I already have some internet experience, I should be able to speed up the process quite a bit.

Initial comment: The day after I signed up, I received an email (obviously the first in an auto-responder series) telling me about yet another opportunity (taking surveys for money). In order to give the original opportunity my best shot, I’m going to ignore all other offers received and just focus on the task at hand. I was a little disappointed by this, but am going to put it behind me and stay the course.

CAUTION: This is a fast and easy way to get over your head in debt while trying to earn an income on the internet. Every opportunity sounds good. The problem is, if you keep chasing after every new bright, shiny object, you lose your focus and end up not accomplishing anything except for building a mountain of debt. So, beware of this common pitfall on line. Your best bet is to chose a course of action and then stick with it until you know whether or not it’s going to work for you.
